Earth Healing Archetypes

The Healing Archetypes are universal character types that embody the strengths of humanity. These strengths have the capacity to heal the world, and usher in collective evolution and growth.

The Rainbow

Those who embody the archetype of the Rainbow are here to bring revelations from the divine, to spark new potentials here on Earth. They are here to be a light on the planet. Rainbows have been emblems of joy, enthusiasm, and delight since time immemorial. Rainbows are unequivocally gorgeous, unique, high-flying. They’ve often been seen as agents of hope for humanity—as symbols of inspiration, and also aspiration. Rainbows have a profound connection with the upper world. They’re aligned with starlight, moonlight, and illumination, and they have an intimate connection to beings of the upper world—including the idea of the higher self, spirits, and angels. In some cosmologies, the rainbow was literally considered a bridge to be able to commune with these entities. People who hold the Rainbow archetype have active minds and big ideas; there’s a huge intellectual curiosity here. Just like rainbows, they are passionate and quick moving, and also charismatic and fun. From the perspective of Earth healing, Rainbow archetype people are seen much as rainbows have been seen throughout humanity as messengers from heaven.

The Old Growth Tree

People who hold the archetype of the Old Growth tree are here to be a bridge between heaven and earth. They’re here to use their rich imaginations and unique ability to see the wider plan to shape the direction of this planet. Old growth trees are magnificent to behold. If you’ve ever been with an old growth tree, you know the unique energy and perspective and wisdom that they bring with them. In the presence of these elders it is miraculous how strong not only their crown is- and also their roots. Old growth trees are unique in that they are grounded in both places. They both have strong, widespread roots within the earth and tall spreading branches in the sky. It’s no coincidence that in a lot of different mythological systems, trees were seen as the go-betweens between heaven and earth as literal bridges between these two realms.

The Standing Stone

Standing Stone people are here to make the earth’s healing tangible by nurturing things for the world. People who hold this archetype are here to keep the relationship between humanity and the earth alive in a very tangible, physical way. When they are grounded in themselves and in this archetype, they can really thrive on the joy of tending and seeing the small details of life. Just like the standing stones of antiquity, people who hold this archetype are both grounded on the earth and also a gateway to the mystical. There’s a sense when you’re with these Standing Stones— both in reality and with people who hold this archetype— that the practical, the tangible, and the grounded is itself a gateway to a wider, deeper experience of the mystical or the divine.

The Vein of Gold

Those who hold the archetype of the Vein of Gold have the ability to go deep and find light in places where others only find darkness. Vein of gold people can perceive the unperceivable. They can see into the depths and illuminate what is there. People who hold this archetype are not afraid of the deep end. They have a very special ability and particular insight into the underpinnings of things, including the psyche of humanity, the field of psychology, the unconscious and the hidden realm. Because of this, people who hold this archetype make natural therapists, healers, and underworld guides. Because of their ability to go places others cannot and their unique perceptive qualities, Vein of Gold people are here to understand the human journey as well as the other forces of consciousness with which we share this planet.

The Wellspring

Those who hold the archetype of the Wellspring are here to be a perennial source-point, a reminder of what earth energy truly looks and feels like. To illustrate the archetype of the Wellspring, it's best to consider the Chalice Well in England; the Chalice Well has been a place of pilgrimage for thousands of years, and is a place of respite, healing, resourcing and remembering. The water that rises to the surface is said to have healing properties. Just sitting in the gardens there, being with the water, is healing unto itself. And this is just the truth about water: Water heals because it is. A wellspring doesn’t try hard to be a source of healing or nourishment. It literally just rises naturally from the earth and, in its flowing, becomes a source-point of healing and rejuvenation- much like Wellspring people.
