Plant Spirit Ceremony Summary Instructions

1. Set your intention and decide which plant to diet.
2. Harvest the plant and prepare the component parts of the elixir.
3. Prepare yourself by following a cleansing regime for at least three days prior to the initiation.
4. Do a final ceremonial mixing of the component parts, adding prayers of blessing and intention.
5. Prepare and purify your ceremonial space, asking permission from Spirit, setting up your altar, and gathering whatever you will need for the duration of the plant diet. For instance you will probably want a sleeping bag and cushions, a notepad and pen, a CD player or similar technology for playing music, and perhaps drinking water, art materials, a drum, or other instruments.
6. Prepare and purify yourself, ensuring that you will not be disturbed during your diet.
7. Center yourself, focus your intent, and if you have a pack of divination cards, intuitively select a card that can help guide you in this ceremony.
8. Now with clear intent, call to whatever guardians and spirit helpers you choose to invoke. This is the start of your ceremony.
9. Pour some elixir and offer it as a gift to Grandmother Earth.
10. Now pour some for yourself, surrender to the plant, and take your first drink.
11. From this point onward, you will be dreaming with the plant, whether awake or asleep, and periodically drinking the elixir (you choose how much and how often).
12. Record your experiences and review these at the end.
13. When it is time to close the ceremony, thank and release all the beings who have helped you.
14. Finish with a celebratory feast.
15. Afterward keep a seventy-two-hour discipline or integration period.
