Lily (Chaldees: Ango; Greeks: Amala; Latin: Lilium). If you gather this hern, the Sun being in Leo, and mix it with the juice of the Laurel, or Bay Tree, and afterwards put it under the dung of Cattle, it shall be turned into worms. If powder is made and put about the neck of any man, or in his clothes, he shall never sleep until it is put away; if it is put under the dung of cattle and a man anointed with the worms breeding from it, he shall be brought to fever. And if it is put into any vessel where there is Cow's milk, and covered with the skin of a cow of one color, all the Cows shall lose their milk.

* It is possible that Convallaria Majalis, Lily of the Valley, is intended here; extracts of the flowers have long been used as heart stimulants. Lilium Candidum, the Madonna Lily, is also another candidate, as it's been in cultivation since Roman Times, but has never been regarded as Officinal.
