Middling Holiday
Evergreen Day (December 19th)

The National Arborist Association originally established the festive celebration as "National Look For An Evergreen Day" in order to appreciate the beauty of Evergreen Trees. In my own calendar, however, the holiday honoring evergreens becomes singularly focused on the Pine- which represents the Tree of Life; giving this holiday an additional spiritual depth and focus that outstrips the original intent of the holiday.

Inspirations

The most popular Evergreen varieties are classified as Firs, Spruces, and Pines, and have been traditionally decorated with edibles like apples, nuts or dates since the 16th century. From the 18th century, the trees have also been decorated with glittering lights, jingle bells, garlands, tinsel, and other ornaments.
