Welcoming Summer

Core Holiday
Prairie Moon: First New Moon of June.

Celebrates the Unknown King now restored, the Wild Land and Elemental Nature, and the Spirits and Spirit Allies which reside there (The Rustic Host), and honors them through the Prairie Blooming.

This is also both a time to let go of the things which weigh us down- a burning of that which holds us back- so that we can fertilize the land and in turn reap the first sweet rewards of the season's hard work. It serves also as a time of rest and preparation for the future, and the hard times to come; the final, blissful moment of leisure and release before the difficult work of the cultivated harvest season begins- filled with strongly scented flowers, and the now-heavy laden boughs of fruit trees swarmed with the gentle buzzing of the Wasps and Bees, and various other Insects who feed on them.

Consider preparing your home to be sustained for at least three days prior to the holiday so that no work needs to be done on it, detracting from its leisure.

Inspirations

A necklace of cherries, worn sticky and sweet in the summer. Handfuls of grass stacked in tremulous bales, forming and reforming a landscape for the insects below. A spot where shade pools like water, and just as kind in the heat of the day. A rest that turns the time to honey.
