Autumn's End

Core Holiday
Nut Moon: First New Moon of November.
Harvestide

The beheading of The Unknown King, and the beginning of his Winter perambulation across the land as The Headless One; despite its grimness, it's an opportunity to look outward to loved ones, and inward to the ancestors- and to celebrate community and the connection between people. Especially connections forged through trade, tradition, sharing, and sacrifice. In recognition of the King's own sacrifice, it also becomes a time of giving thanks for abundant crops, a good job, a healthy family, and anything else we may have.

Every one of us are wounded, and carry these scars with us- both visibly and invisibly. And yet each of us shares in the mystery and majesty of life. Shining the healing light of community attention on these wounds can actively transform them from waste to wisdom, healing the bonds between us. This allows us to turn our attention to the bounty of the year, where we can celebrate the food and those who produce it, those who bring it to us, those who cook, and those who clean up afterward.
