Casting and Banishing an Energetic Circle

First choose a place along the edge of your marked circle, at one of the cardinal directions to begin. Take a moment to ground yourself to the Earth’s energies there.

Once you are ready, visualize drawing up the Earth’s energy from its core, through your own root. Extend your first two fingers and visualize energy flowing from your root through you and out to your finger.

Move sunwise about the ritual space from your starting space, ‘drawing’ the circle with your fingers as you go; many people find it helpful to visualize the stream of energy in a particular color. Regardless, move slowly, and concentrate. Remember to breathe deeply.

When it is complete and you have gone all the way around the circle and returned to your starting point, stop walking and solidify the circle by visualizing the entire boundary in your mind. When you can “see” it in your mind’s eye, ‘extend’ the circle above and below to create a bubble around the space.

To take it down afterwards, begin at your starting spot and walk anti-sunwise around the space, visualize drawing up the circle through your two fingers, and pushing it back down your taproot and into the Earth again. Reground afterwards.
