Calling the Quarters

Cleanse the ritual space first, ground, and draw your circle as usual. Then stand n your circle at your starting direction, facing outward, and draw the invoking symbol for that element, visualizing the energy flowing up your root and out into the symbol.

Although you are “calling” the quarter with your energy, you can call verbally too. This is not essential or required, but most do say something out loud; if desired you may include a verbal invocation here in the form of poetry, a rhyme, a statement, song, or some other. You may say it at the same time as the visualization- or, if that is too hard, then after.

Visualize the invocation symbol glowing brightly in the air for a moment, then ‘settling’ into the boundary of the cast circle; repeat with the other elemental directions in order.

To deconstruct the quarters, repeat the same steps using the banishing symbols instead; visualize pulling them from the circle boundary and dismissing their energy back through your root and into the Earth again.
