Spell of Good Fertility to Bless the Plants

On the day of planting, place the seeds on a plate upon the altar. Obtain then, a pitcher of water, some milk and honey, olive oil and lastly some sugar. Place a separate bowl on the altar. If able, light a candle and good smelling incense such as frankincense or benzoin.

Ring a bell or clap the hands and call upon the Lares and the Penates saying:

Veni, Veni Lares; Spirits of Land, Spirits of Home; Come, Come, Veni Lares; Grant the Earth Fertility; Bless the Growing Seed; Grant protection to the land; Grant speed to the sprout; Veni, Veni Lares; Veni Veni Penates; Spirits of Hearth and Pantry; Come, Come, Spirits of Home; Bless our food, our seeds and our harvests; Ride on wings of joy and bring the land to bear mountains of fruit; Bless our seeds, Dear Penates, that our harvests be tremendous, and our hearths roar evermore with food to share; Grant this, I pray.

Then begin the offering ritual. Take the water and make three separate libations for each saying:

Salve Lares, Salve Penates, Salve Daimones.

To this water, add the olive oil, milk and honey and lastly the sugar, again speaking the above Salutation over it as you pour it in.

Say once again:

Agios Ischyros Lares et Penates

Then sprinkle some of the water on the seeds. Plant the seeds and sprinkle some of the water over the dirt saying:

Peace, the Lares have blessed. Grow, the Penates have graced. Fruitful harvests be abundant, and strength be bound in root, stem and leaf, and fruit be born three times over, with more than enough for me and mine. So shall it be.

Dispose of the water as discerned.
