The Five Fold Kiss is not a “Gender Essentialist Fertility Ritual”

The Five Fold Kiss is a blessing that is performed in order to sanctify a Coven's High Priest or High Priestess' body, as the physical vessel which will literally hold the Spirit of the God or Goddess during ritual. It is performed just prior to the Drawing-Down rites (either of the Sun — or the Moon), during which the High Priest/ess literally becomes temporarily possessed by the relevant Deity, in order for said Deity to directly commune with the gathered Coven and offer them their wisdom and guidance.

It may be performed elsewhere at a few other points, definitely. But this is the biggest one, and arguably the primary reason the blessing was even created at all. It's also one of the most important rituals of the entire faith system, because it's direct possession and communion with its own Deity/ies. And that really should be respected (and treated more respectfully) far more than it is.

In other words: The Five Fold Kiss is a pre-possession blessing. It has nothing to do with fertility at any point, other than the fact that it also blesses the genitals during the process of blessing the entire body. It’s also practiced on / by both (all) genders- not just one (though the Drawing Down the Sun rite is admittedly much newer and not anywhere near as standardized in the same way as the Drawing Down the Moon rite is).

Calling it “a disgusting Gender Essentialist Fertility Ritual” just because you have a problem with Wicca at your core, is digusting and asinine. It completely ignores the point of the ritual an the information that's widely publicly available on it; this isn't even hard information to get. It's not Oathbound information. It's literally out there entirely in the open- including on Wikipedia (everyone's favorite source to quote). You have no excuse to be this ignorant and rude.
