13 Principles Of (Personal) Belief

I acknowledge a depth of great creative power so called the supernatural or metaphysical, but which I see as lying within all that which is- and which is naturally potential to all.

I recognize both the inner and outer worlds, and seek to neglect neither world in favor of the other- seeing both as necessary for personal spiritual fulfillment and practice.

I conceive of the creative power of the Universe as manifesting through polarity; I value neither polarity above the other, nor do I ignore the existence of the spectrum of non-polaric forces between them. I believe the same creative power resides in all people regardless of their personal alignment to any binaric or polaric forces, or the spectrum between.

I practice spiritual rites intended to attune myself to the natural rhythms of life and the Earth Cycle, as marked within nature by the phases of the Moon, Sun, and Earth.

I recognize that our intelligence and prior actions as a species gives us unique responsibilities towards our environment, and seek to live in harmony and ecological balance with nature wherever (and however) I am able.

I believe that we must work within the inner world for what is healthy and contributory to the wellbeing of not just our own body, mind, and soul- but also for the health and wellbeing of the world at large.

I believe, above all, that it is my own personal affirmation of life and the continuation of the development of my own ethical consciousness which ultimately gives meaning to life, the Universe, and my own role within it.

I recognize that there is no concept of ‘absolute evil’. However, nor do I accept evil, or seek power over others through the infliction of suffering onto others. Nor do I accept that personal benefit can only be derived through denial to, or of, another's wellbeing.

I honor and respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, who have given themselves over to leadership and education within our community. But I also acknowledge that not all leaders and educators are truly worthy of their positions, and will not abide by the corruption and abuse of such positions of respect and authority to deny or hide our history, spread misinformation, abuse others, or otherwise harm our community.

I see my religion, spirituality, magical practice, ethics and morality, and general wisdom-in-living as united in a worldview and philosophy of life hereby identified as ‘Witchcraft’ and ‘The NeoWiccan Way’.

I uphold that merely calling oneself a ‘Witch’, however, does not make one a Witch, nor automatically initiate oneself into ‘The NeoWiccan Way’- and that neither does hereditary ancestry itself, nor the mere collection of degrees and initiations; one must still actively attune themselves to the Mysteries.

I proclaim that I am not threatened by any debates on the history or legitimacy of the craft, or of my own faith. Instead I actively and openly welcome these discussions, and any new information and insight they may bring- for without continued knowledge and debate, we cannot continue to grow.

I proclaim that our only animosity towards any religions should exist only insofar as any individual or system should seek to deny religious freedom to others (however they may do so); that true Human unity can only come from proper unbiased education on, and acceptance of, the multifaceted nature of Human culture and belief.
