My Mythopoetic Cycle

The mythopoetic cycle I follow is built upon the story of Genesis in the Garden of Eden, and the post-Edenic mythos of Adam and Chava. The sources are taken both from the Tanakh, as well as from Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha (both Jewish and Christian). It is mixed with personal Gnosis obtained through spiritual journeys and interactions with these Spirits, as well as common NeoPagan archetypes such as the Sacrificial King.

This newly constructed mythology is then superimposed over the natural cycle of the year in order to achieve a mythopoetic cycle celebrated throughout the calendar year.

My Mythopoetic Cycle

In July at Midsummer, Adam and Chava reign as the Ascended Ancestors, masters of the Mysteries gained from consuming the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

In December at Winter's Beginning, Adam is beheaded- becoming the Headless Wanderer whose blood nourishes the land over winter for the next cycle. Chava becomes the Veiled Widow and retreats to The Great Temple Underground to mourn his loss.

In March at Spring's Beginning, Chava emerges from the Great Temple Underground as the Green Lady, and resurrects Adam through the Oil of Life and Death.

In May at Spring's End Adam and Chava perform The Great Rite, and Chava gives birth to the Rustic and Verdant Hosts.

They reascend again in July, and the mythopoetic cycle repeats itself.
