The Garden; The Otherworld

1. The Garden is home to the Lord of the Soil (Lunar Adam) and the Lady of the Well (Solar Chava); the Verdant Host (Cultivated Green), the Rustic Host (Wild Green), the Perambulatory Watchers (Elemental Guardians), Handmaidens of the Waters (Tenders of the Well), the Many-Eyed Serpents (Contract-Keepers), and Others.

2. While Paradisiacal in nature, the Garden is not Paradise. Merely a shadowy attempt at its recreation in the Land of Exile; a garden of otherworldly knowledge is not Gan-Eden by proxy of similarity. Still, it holds many of the same Fruits of Knowledge- as well as many others; all taken by Adam at the time of exile, and lovingly tended all the same.

3. The Garden, Hedge-bound and thorn-struck by the Rose, is difficult to obtain. Few earn the right of entry. Even fewer learn to navigate the waymarkers unharmed; four gates to the Garden enter, each guarded by the Perambulatory Watchers- Elemental Kings for each of whom an exemplary quality must be fulfilled: Excellence, Accountability, Discernment, and Humility.

4. Four roads to the Garden center, each guided by a spirit whose watch changes with the season. During the Overland Season, the Hummingbird, Cottontail, Frog, and Bear guide the wanderer; during the Underland season, the guard changes and the Bluejay, Serpent, Toad, and Fox preside.

5. Together the Garden is divided into the Plots of Knowledge: One Third illuminated by Lunar Light most Silver. One Third by Solar Light most Golden. And one Third illuminated equally in the light of both simultaneously; all sustained on the rich red of blood and Sacrifice, and the waters of the Wellspring Eternal.

6. Born of the Plots of Knowledge are the Hosts; from Lunar Light most Silver, the Rustic Host, Guardians and Celebrants of the wild and untamed Green, Children of the Lord of the Soil. And from Solar Light most Golden, the Verdant Host, Children of the Lady of the Well, Guardians and Celebrants of the cultivated and agricultural green.

7. Nine are the Handmaidens born of the Plots of Knowledge: Three born of the Lunar Light most Silver. Three born of Solar Light most Golden. And three born equally in the light of both simultaneously; all tasked with tending to the Wellspring Eternal at the Garden’s center, as Handmaidens of The Waters.

8. The Wellspring Eternal which lies at the Garden’s center beneath the Tree of Life and Death is twofold: The White Spring of Universal Energy (Solar) which feeds the Black Well of Deep Transformation (Lunar). Together they form the Font of Magic: Center of Initiation, and Source of the Great Mysteries.
