Adam; The Unknown King

Poetic Epithets

God The Father; the Unknown King; Sacrificial King; Lunar King; All-Father; The Great Seed; Chimerical Protector; Lunar Stag; Headless One; Undying One; Sacrificial King; He of the Deep Wooded Places; The Lord; Source and Resource.

The Right Face of the Divine Hermaphrodite is the masculine, creative force of God the Father: Adam: The Headless Consort to Chava, The Great Queen.

As the Headless Consort he is Protector and Nourisher of the Garden; the very seed from which all springs forth from the earth- as well as the soil from which all springs, and the water which nourishes all. Thus He is the source of the very mysteries themselves, as the source of all life itself.

He is a quiet, chimerical figure perched just on the edge of the peripheral, however: Turn your head one way and he appears- another way, and he vanishes; neither here nor there, but everywhere all the same; both singular and plural, he is neither void nor universe, but in between; He is all and nothing, nowhere and everywhere; the Dark Moon and Full Moon both, simultaneously; the cycle ever turning.

Thus his nature is that of the Wild Earth and Nature: That which is provided. The Past.

*Creative is different than Provisionary; these are not one and the same.

He is the Stag-Antlered bearer of the Solar Disc; the Perambulatory Wanderer of the Wilds who maintains the natural order of things. But when the cycle turns, he becomes Bull-Horned and submits himself to The Great Sacrifice- allowing himself to be ritually beheaded so that he may wander headlessly throughout the lands during Winter, his blood nourishing the soil as he goes; forcing The Great Queen to don the Stag-Antlers of mourning and retire to the Great Temple Underground until he is reborn again with the Star of Bethlehem in Spring.
